Landmark Hollywood dive may be purchased by Sean MacPherson
A favorite and distinct Tinseltown dive in a town crammed with them, Ye Coach & Horses looks poised to be purchased by bar wiz Sean MacPherson, and his L.A. partner Jared Meisler. The airy (for a swillery), high-ceilinged, circa 1930s fixture on Sunset Boulevard-right there by the 7 Eleven, on a windswept section of The Strip-has been one of Room 100’s favorite places to go to escape the gaudy scene, play one of the best jukeboxes in the city, gulp rail drinks, cram into one of the old booths, and maybe even order some curry slop at the adjoining Indian eats next door.

By day, professional drunkards, by night, hipster central, the democratic Coach & Horses is up for grabs, with an eviction notice having been handed to the longtime owners. We hear that MacPherson-who is on a bit of a run in buying up cool old digs such as this (see Roger Room), and managing to not over-“fancifry” them-is thisclose to a deal, if it isn’t already done. To us, that’s good news. Stay tuned.
