If it don’t look good, don’t see it. But we have hopes, since right now, there’s no hair-apparent out there.
It don’t look bad, so try it on. The documentary on the legendary ’70s and ’80s “King of Hair” opened this past weekend in New York City–moving to select metropolis theaters a week or so later–and we’ll take a peek for certain. In the Valentino documentary vein, “Vidal Sassoon The Movie” (no colon, for some reason) follows the trajectory of the great “hairdresser” and product brand smarty, who is now 83 (and we wish him many more years). It’s mostly all praise, but he’s got a fascinating past, and it’s a fun way to get all goose-bumpy, pre-Oscars. We’ll say this: Like Oscar de la Renta, they don’t make them like this anymore. Class act, knew his stuff, and isn’t afraid to state his opinions about the “New Hollywood,” which ain’t.
