New Royal Enfield motorcycle a bespoke warrior’s ride of rides
With Royal Enfield, the storied British brand still building classic motorbikes by hand, “new” isn’t exactly the point. They go to great lengths to keep things true to form, even if these days that means building them in India where the bikes enjoy great prestige as an icon of the British Army officer days. Their new Classic Chrome and Bullet 500 are more in the way of updates, then, the real news being they’ll be available stateside, beginning in April. Aside from a few electronics carefully masked by period details, the basic design hasn’t changed much in over 70 years, and that’s a good thing. An Enfield won’t outrun a Japanese superbike–but then if you’ve got one you’re way too cool to care.
