Downtown Holiday Market

Out There

Located across from the Verizon Center (601 F Street) and Gallery Place-Chinatown metro, the 6th annual outdoor bazaar is bigger and better than ever, with nearly 180 rotating artisans and exhibitors, averaging about 50 per week, will sell unique and quality crafts, fine art, jewelry, pottery, clothing and photography. Talk about variety: De*Nada Design returns with handmade knits for adults; TORO MATA specializes in Peruvian art; 8th Street Soap Kitchen offers handcrafted delicacies; Smashing Jewels doesn’t disappoint with contemporary jewelry; and Janice’s Table enchants with its European textiles.

Did we mention the specialty foods that will make ideal hostess gifts—pies from Dangerously Delicious DC and truffles from J. Chocolatier—and absolutely fabulous live entertainment, from jazz, swing and blues to reggae, a cappella and bluegrass? Check out this lineup: Grammy-nominated Christylez Bacon (progressive hip hop); Dave Chappell (guitar); Flo Anito (jazz-pop); Gina DeSimone (swing); Glorious Sounds of the United House of Prayer (Gospel Brass); Janine Wilson & Max Evans (acoustic roots); Kid Goat (indie rock); Seth Kibel (jazz); and The Sweater Set (folk) are all scheduled to perform.

An assortment of tasty treats from Alexsa’s Bakery, Blacksauce Kitchen, Curbside Cupcakes, Crepes at the Market, and The Tender Rib will help keep your energy level up as you shop ‘til you drop.
