Belgravia nabs swellagant new hotel in London’s swinging-est nabe.
While London’s not immune to Bohemia, it practically invented the word, Belgraves is getting a lot of buzz as being the next and best comfy-hip new spot to stay, drink and eat in the Belgravia neighborhood. It opens for reservations on February 1st.
Hardwood floors in the guest rooms, custom mill-work and subtle detail too. The great chef Mark Hix will be holding the pots and pans in the kitchen at HIX Belgravia, which will feature a world-inspired menu, yet boasting simple preparations. Designed by Tara Bernerd, the dining room commissioned artworks by great Brit artists to accent the space, including pieces by Miranda Donovan, Rachel Howeard and Mat Collishaw.
The state-of-the-art fitness center on the second floor will work off any of the comestible confections or luscious libations you take down in. The renovation transformed an Eastern Bloc-looking 1973 building into a fortress of finery. On the mezzanine is Mark’s Bar, as in Mark Hix (they like him), with the house cocktails concocted by the great Nick Strangeway. It’s London, there will be smoking, inside a garden with an extensive cigar selection.
They’re offering limited-time package that includes two “Hix Fix” cocktails, and room upgrade based on availability, for more info check out: thompsonhotels.com.
