Luminary-luring Thompson Hotels is official partner of world’s largest short film fest (with a $20K top prize!)

Tropfest New York which is taking place on the Bryant Park grounds on June 23rd, is calling for entries from emerging U.S. filmmakers.

A global affair, the entries’ short films will be screened in front of both live and online audiences, and will be judged by a celebrity and movie industry panel. Best in show takes home $20,000, although there will be other prizes given.

“The festival is supported by some of the biggest stars in the international film community, and has received thousands of submissions for its film festivals in Australia and the recently launched Tropfest Arabia in Abu Dhabi,” a press release announced last week. “We are excited to be fostering filmmaker talent by taking this global phenomenon to emerging filmmakers across America and providing them with the groundbreaking opportunity to showcase their skills in front of such a large audience,” said Polson. “Anyone looking for a platform to be creative, regardless of production budget, should enter Tropfest New York.”
