Journalist Jared Paul Stern heads to the land of the Nor’easter and opens a heritage shop called Cape Porpoise Outfitters to give Double RRL a run for its money. Ayuh…
Our sartorial and astute colleague Jared Paul Stern has followed his dream and now owns a red barn full of self-curated goods you want, if you’re a man’s man and have ruggedly handsome taste. Here’s what GQ recently had to say about it:
“You know those stores where the heritage-heavy set decoration is way more interesting than the clothes on display? Well, if you’ve ever wanted to get your hands on said old American merch look no further than Cape Porpoise Outfitters in Maine. Founder Jared Paul Stern has curated a collection of vintage, original Americana that includes everything from old BMW and Levi’s signage to hand-crafted furniture to a buffet of vintage watches that are worth the trip alone. Menswear pops up in the form of vintage Barbour jackets and accessories, including club ties and some swagger-ific Gucci tennis racket holders. The shop is housed in what used to be a livery stable built in 1889 and offers the rare find in retail today – a store built on heritage goods actually selling the authentic originals.”
Cape Porpoise Outfitters is located at 8 Langsford Road, Cape Porpoise, Me. For more information visit cape-porpoise.com.
