We just had to pick up from Gawker these portraits of three luminaries of modern culture, all of which ran in The Wall Street Journal rendered as those pixilated black-and-white “hedcuts” the paper is famous for known as “stipples.”
Ronald McDonald made the cut recently, prompting Gawker to showcase some of their faces. Get to it, people, and make your mark, pleasingly or notoriously. There’s no higher honor.
Now, we’re waiting for a documentary on the artists who render them. After all, The New York Times’ crossword puzzle creators already got their close-ups.
