Aire Ancient Baths bring relaxation rituals of the Romans, Greeks and Ottoman Empire to the modern metropolis
There’s no denying that New York is a non-stop assault on the senses. In a city of constant stimulation, perhaps the best way to unwind is to continue with a ritual of dynamic sensations. Enter Aire Ancient Baths, a transformative, water-filled cavern based on time-honored rituals of the Ancient Romans, Greeks and Ottomans.
Aire’s 90-minute thermal session takes bathers through a series of temperature-controlled bath chambers for optimal physical revitalization, starting with warm-water and hot-water pools and into the cold water pools (one at 61 degrees F, the other below 46 degrees F), then on to the aromatherapy steam room and 97-degree propellor jet bath to prepare muscles for massage, before ending with a motionless float in the 100-degree saltwater pool.
Special treatments to add on include a variety of massages, as well as VIP soaks in red wine, cava, olive oil, milk, or citrus.
After an indulgent day at the baths, you’ll be thoroughly refreshed, relaxed and ready to take on the bustle of the city once again. Planning a trip to the baths? Stay with us at the nearby Smyth Tribeca and make it a weekend of relaxation.
