Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival

Film

The Toronto International Film Festival kicks off 2014 by recognizing homegrown talent in Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival, running through January 12th.

The lineup comprises 10 feature-length films and 10 shorts by contemporary Canadian filmmakers. Highlights include “The F Word,” a romantic comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan, directed by Michael Dowse; a documentary on the history of Jewish comedy entitled “When Jews were Funny;” an adult animated feature called “Asphalt Watches,” which captures the hilarious hijinks of a trans-Canadian road trip; and more.

You’ve got the weekend to catch the remaining screenings and panels, and for film buffs, there’s no better way to absorb local culture.
