Sports Are Hard – Watch Them Instead

Food & Drink

Those who compete in the Olympics are incredibly dedicated, talented, and athletic individuals. But
man, does that take some serious effort. Relax like an Olympian and watch the USA’s talented folks
bring home gold at one of these fine Chicago establishments. Just try not to get too upset thinking
about a town in Russia that is currently warmer than the Second City.

Sheffield’s: The BBQ and beer haven opens its doors at 11 am on February 7th for some gold-
standard Olympic viewing through February 23rd. Though its famous beer garden is out of season,
a table by the fire will do just the trick. Try your hand at over 100 craft brews or, better yet, at some thematic Moscow Mules and Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. Sheffield’s is located in Lakeview at 3258 N Sheffield.

Sedgwick’s: This Lincoln Park bar is no stranger to the international sports festival – its third annual
Olympwick’s promises a series of team events guaranteed to challenge the athlete in us all. Perhaps the
most difficult, yet rewarding is the Alpine Challenge, which involves eating the bar’s signature tater tot
mountain. Built as a sports bar, there will be no shortage of TVs for prime Olympic viewing. Check out
Sedgwick’s at 1935 N Sedgwick.

Old Town Social This restaurant is the answer to upscale food with sports bar amenities. Boasting
over two-dozen flat-screen TVs, the foodie joint is offering up drink gold, silver, and bronze
drink specials in honor of the games. Eat like a winner with the Breakfast of Champions weekend
brunch special, which includes quinoa and brown rice hash, avocado, 2 poached eggs, and a side of
blueberries. Old Town Social is, you guessed, located in Old Town at 455 North Ave.
