Head to Saatchi Gallery in London for afternoon tea after some art
As spring slowly makes itself known, it’s essential to get outdoors. Try your luck at Saatchi Gallery, whose cafe space, Gallery Mess, extends the artful aesthetic all the way to a vaulted stone terrace. The restaurant, which sources local, seasonal ingredients under the operation of Rhubarb Food Design, serves lunch, dinner, drinks, and afternoon tea—the last of which rounds out an ideal London afternoon, rain or shine.
Through March 23rd, Saatchi hosts two compelling shows, “Body Language” and “New Order II: British Art Today,” as well as an exhibition of new and past winners of the Jealous student prize through March 30. “Body Language” presents figurative work by artists from Tarynth Berkeley to Makiko Kudo. In the second iteration of Saatchi’s showcase of up-and-coming British artists, “New Order II” includes work from Dominic Beattie, Hannah Perry, Finbar Ward, and more.
