Cover up the cats and dogs at Mungo & Maud Outfitters in London this spring
It’s still a bit nippy out, so stylish dogs and cats will appreciate an extra, extra-chic layer as they take their springtime constitutionals. Husband and wife owners Michael and Nicola Sacher opened the first outpost of Mungo & Maud Pet Outfitters, their now-chainlet of pet clothing and accessories boutiques in Belgravia in 2005, and have since expanded with another location in Notting Hill and a shop inside Harrods, as well as web stores servicing the UK and US.
The gear at Mungo & Maud is a far bark from the common cutesy stuff at the big-box pet stores. Dogs can shop cable-knit cashmere sweaters and Barbour-esque down wraps; luxurious, neutral-hued and printed blankets and beds; rope, canvas, and leather leashes; and a bevy of toys that will look smart strewn about the house and yard. Cats are catered to with their own set of rich baskets and beds, bell-bedecked collars, and toys. Even humans can get in on the action, with a selection of outerwear for walking in the elements, and poop bags that do the uncanny trick of looking stylish.
If you’ve left a pet at home, Mungo & Maud makes for the perfect souvenir stop to make it up to them.
