Last week in Chicago, winter was once again in full force, but that didn’t stop Thompson Chicago from heating up the night with a fabulous event celebrating the Thompson Hotel brand’s signature scent, “Velvet”, created by olfactive branding company, 12.29. Co-founders of 12.29, Dawn and Samantha Goldworm traveled from New York City to help preview Thompson Chicago’s first-ever lobby boutique as well as demonstrate the process behind the creation of the scent. The “Sounds & Scents” event gave attendees the chance to experience the unique aromas created by 12.29, while enjoying the stylish and luxurious Chicago 7 Ballroom, which was transformed into an opulent wonderland with décor inspired by the scent itself. Guests noshed on rich fare from Nico Osteria and were treated to a private performance by nationally acclaimed Indie rock band, Smith Westerns to complete the night. Hosted by Helen Berkun of Glossed and Found, Azeeza Khan of Azeeza US, and Jessica Murnane of One Part Plant– three of Thompson Chicago’s unique Creative Spirits, a selection of ambassadors who align with the key cultural pillars of the brand- this extraordinary evening had even the most fashionable Chicagoans braving the snowstorm in their stilettos.
