Snack, shop, style.
At first word, newcomers might mistake this Brit import emporium for a chic snack pantry. You’d be half right. As it turns out, Dover Street Market is a fresh fashion stop, too. The curatorial wonder is home to covetable stand-bys like Alexander Wang, Jil Sander and Saint Laurent, but owner Rei Kawakubo (the design mind behind also-stocked label Comme Des Garcons) remains on the hunt for luxe accoutrements to push the product mix over the edge – they just took on Giambatista Valli, and Moynat is moving in as of the beginning of the month. And speaking of stockings, you’ll be pleased to find an actual snacking department, too. Make a stop at Rose Bakery for pastries as sweet as the fins. You’ll feel like a kid in a candy store. Only better.
