Strike out at the Boogaloo Bowl
Don’t feel too bad if the cool of the Boogaloo Bowl eludes you at first hear. The name sounds more honkytonk than hipster, but there ain’t nothing country about the venue, which happens to be a sibling of the wildly popular across-the-pond haunt, Brooklyn Bowl.
The sleek, refurbished wood alleyways are throwbacks to more soulful, disco-bumping days of old. Dayglo lights and fixtures, bourbon-topped ice cream floats, and fried chicken platters run circles around typical beer- and burger-only ball joints.
Meanwhile, pond-hopping music acts from Raekwon and Grand Master Flash to The Wailers put their music stage in a league all its own.
And you right there with it.
