Hold on to your skirts and read on for her take on a perfect day in east L.A.
I love to start my day with coffee from LAMILL- The Madagascar Vanilla Latte– They also have amazing breakfast- Frisée Salad with Lardons and coffee infused vinaigrette so you are completely caffeine buzzed by the end of breakfast.
Yolk, Lawson-Fenning, and Rubbish Interiors
After breakfast, surely some of my favorite shops – are bound to be open. The owner [at Rubbish] has an impeccable eye and is always refreshing inventory with great finds.
Square One at the Boathouse
Next up: lunch in Echo Park. I love having lunch there – they have amazing sandwiches and then it is a must to rent a paddleboat to take out onto the water. I love doing this activity with my daughter.
Valerie Echo Park
Hop in the car for a drive up Echo Park Blvd and stop for a treat here. Valerie makes the best chocolate confections, Durango cookies, and chocolate.
During the summer I love to go to concerts here – great music outdoors it is pure magic.
The Griffith Observatory
The view from Griffith Park is indescribably beautiful day or night. Definitely a must-do year around.
A drink here is always a great time – the drinks are great, and there’s a mixed crowd. It’s small and intimate and they normally have fantastic live music.
