Where the choreography dynamo takes five around town

Some women march to the beat of their own drummer. Janet Jones struts. The former Miami Heat dancer has made a mission out of giving women a place to shake it and shout out go-girl mantras to a smoking hot soundtrack all in the name of breaking a sweat. She calls it The Vixen Workout – and it’s damned addictive.

Here’s where she works it when she’s working it out on the dance floor.

Wynwood Arts District

The artist in me feels so alive in this area of Miami.  With the massive murals of brilliant street art mixed with actual galleries, trendy bars, and interesting people, the Wynwood Arts district is basically an outdoor museum.  If you happen to be in town on the 2nd Saturday of the month, Wynwood hosts a monthly  Art Walk where thousands hit the streets to view over 60 galleries, street art, great music, and local bars. My fave bar is Wood Tavern.

The Design District

A few blocks east from Wynwood, there’s the Design District, which is still one of my favorite areas because it’s a creative’s playground. Where Wynwood has a certain “urban art cool kid” vibe to it, the Design District is more sophisticated with great architecture and filled with the coolest furniture and design stores I’ve ever seen. In the Design District, you find some of Miami’s greatest restaurants and shops: Hermes, Christian Louboutin, and Louis Vuitton to name a few.  If you happen to be in the area, you must try Michael’s Genuine.

Need something to wear? Head to Lincoln Road, the beach’s outside mall where you can find all the major clothing brands and a massive MAC pro store.  (Girls, I got you.)

At night, head to the FDR at the 1.
