What does your sweater say about you?

Ever since Adam and Eve concealed their nether regions with mere fig leaves, human beings have found meaning in fashion. Now an exhibition at Toronto’s Design Exchange, the Politics of Fashion – Fashion of Politics (through January 25th 2015) focuses on a relatively more recent time—the 1960s to the present day.

Guest curated by international fashion icon Jeanne Beker with Design Exchange’s Sara Nickleson, the sweeping show explores how clothing has been used to communicate political ideas. Pieces from the archives of Hussein Chalayan, Jeremy Scott, Moschino, PETA, and Jean Charles de Castelbajac will be on view alongside items loaned by collectors of Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, Stella McCartney, and many more.

There is so much on at DX in November so check out their full schedule of events here. Be sure to check out After Party on Nov. 26th with DJ Mama Knows.
