What the Dickens?!

Don’t Be a Scrooge—join A Christmas Carol marathon

On Saturday December 20th dozens of New York’s best writers (Lev Grossman, Adelle Waldman and Adam Gopnick, to name just a few) will band together for the fifth annual marathon reading of Charles Dickens’ classic spirited tale, A Christmas Carol, at Housing Works in Soho from 1pm to 4:30pm.

As Dickens wrote, “There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor,” and this is a great opportunity to test that maxim amid New York’s lively, literary crowd.

Festivities kick off at noon with caroling from members of the New York City Master Chorale. Books will be 10 percent off all day so you can shop for some holiday gifts while sipping hot chocolate or wine from the café.

This afternoon of Christmas mingling will take place at Housing Works’ Soho location at 126 Crosby Street, New York.
