The future of film
Toronto’s Annex neighborhood is about to be popping with international filmmakers, film buffs and basically all around cool peeps interested in stories from around the world. Why? Because the Hot Docs International Film Festival, North America’s largest documentary festival, is happening April 23rd to May 3rd.
Check out the As I AM: The Life and Times of DJ AM doc that takes a deep look at the pioneer DJ and his meteoric rise to stardom. Another riveting film of a very different nature is Arms Drop, about a British arms dealer who after narrowly escaping execution and surviving eight years in an Indian prison, hunts down the MI5 agent who betrayed him.
Not only will there be diverse films for every taste, Hot Docs operates at the century-old landmark cinema in the Annex hood and at several other lovely locations. Check out the full schedule for films, industry talks and parties here.
