Chicago Blues Festival
Living legends Billy Branch, Mud Morgenfield and local 12-bar regulars will lead the charge at this year’s 32nd annual Grant Park Chicago Blues Festival taking place on June 12th – 15th. This year is a tribute to Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon. During three days on five stages, more than 500,000 blues fans prove that Chicago is the “Blues Capital of the World.”
Buddy Guy headlines on Saturday at 8pm at the Petrillo Music Shell, after Taj Mahal warms up the stage. South Side soul underdog Syl Johnson headlines at the same place and time on Friday. Those with a looser definition of the blues might want take note of crooner Hozier, who hits Pritzker Pavilion on June 10th.
