The biggest and best fest
The Krinos Taste of the Danforth festival is the largest street festival in the world (and yes, The Guinness Book of World Records can back up this claim). It’s a weekend long celebration of multicultural diversity of Toronto from Friday August 7th through Sunday 9th.
From mouth-watering Greek cuisine like souvlaki and spanakopita (spinach pie) to Thai and Indian fare, this fest in the heart of Toronto’s Greektown satisfies the hungry and adventurous every summer. Activities include belly dancing lessons and if you want to take it to the next level, this year, they’re attempting to smash two Guinness Book of World Records; the Most People to Eat an Olive in 8 Hours (you only need to eat one olive) and the Most People to Make a Penalty Kick in 8 Hours. (In 2014, they achieved the Largest Tug-of-War Tournament, and another for the Most People to Perform a Standing Long Jump in 8 Hours.)
Obviously this is fun for the whole family and could be quite an exhilarating day if you are willing to get involved. Get the complete schedule of events here.
