His first UK show in 30 years
Even though artist Joseph Cornell barely left New York City, his work oozes a sense of the big wide world far beyond the city limits. His whimsical, ephemeral and dreamlike glass-fronted shadow boxes are now seen as some of the most seminal art of the 20th century.
In a rare and special event, eighty of his iconic boxes revealing the artist’s fascination with astronomy, cinema, literature, ornithology and European culture, will be on show in the UK for the first time in thirty years (since his Whitechapel Gallery show) for Wanderlust, at the Royal Academy of Art until September 27th, 2015.
Don’t miss this special show.
