…With photographer Jeff Divine
No one knows the surfing world more than photographer Jeff Divine, who began taking pictures of his fellow surfers in his hometown of La Jolla, California, in the 1960s. From a staff position with Surfer Magazine, he then became the magazine’s photo editor for the following 17 years. For the last 14 years he has been the photo editor at The Surfers Journal in San Clemente, California.
His now iconic images not only capture the epic rise of the sport, but also the comradery, passion and positivity of all those involved—not to mention the unparalleled meditation on the ocean and the forces of nature.
His three books are enough to inspire any surfing vacation and make amazing gifts for anyone into fashion and the rise of surfing counter culture. Check them out here.
