A photographer whose work speaks for itself
The Chicago-based photographer Trashhand prizes anonymity. He wouldn’t reveal his name or share a picture of himself—pretty impressive in this ceaselessly self-promoting world—but he did share some of his most recent stunning shots and more. With over 456K (and growing) Instagram followers @trashhand we’d say he’s onto a good thing.
Below he answers some brief probing questions…
Why do you prefer to be anonymous?
I’m not a social person and I don’t need anything to be taken away from my photography. It’s the same reason why I don’t say much. I want my photography to do all the talking for me.
How would you describe your photo style?
Gritty, dark, symmetrical, and clean.
What do you love most about Chicago?
The architecture and the people who inhabit it.
What are three favorite places to hang out in Chicago?
North Ave Beach, The Loop, and Wicker Park.
