A moving art show (literally)
This month visit the Fredric Snitzer gallery before things get hectic for Art Basel. The Miami-based artist Amanda Keeley will have her evocative sculptures and prints on show until October 19th in the multifaceted exhibition Dance Constructions. Keeley worked with choreographer Marissa Alma Nick who provided notational scores for each sculpture that Keeley incorporated into the installation. Also featured is a soundtrack by composer Giles Martin.
The exhibition’s publication opens with the statement, “think of your body and the shape it makes in space.” Embracing her dance and movement background in her work, she urges the viewers to notice how their bodies move in the space. We say get your bod there and let it do the talking.
The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday 11am-5pm at 1540 NE Miami Ct, Miami, FL 33132.
