 Simply Stylish

After nine years as a print journalist, London-based Joanne Hegarty longed to have editorial control over an entity of her own. Fusing her love of fashion, interiors and substantive writing, she launched The Stylist and The Wardrobe a fashion blog and Instagram account (with over 13.1K followers) that incorporates all the things that make her smile in the morning and everything London-chic. Here she gives us her tips for winter dressing and more.

My Fashion Philosophy

Everybody’s style changes as they get older. Mine certainly has. It’s a lot more pared down now. I prefer simplicity over fuss and quality over quantity (although I probably have too many clothes). In the winter I’m quite minimalist, in the summer slightly boho, and I always have my eye on the next season around the corner.

Best Fashion Investments

A good quality bag, (anything by Chloe) a stylish well fitted coat, and some statement shoes will take you a long way.

Go-To London Winter Outfit

Black leather cropped trousers, Christy laced flats from Aquazzura, a polo neck, a cross body bag, and a minimalist style fitted coat, camel or burgundy.

Where I Live

I live in Wimbledon and love its sense of community and friendliness. Even though we can get to central London pretty quickly, it feels like we are away from the hustle and bustle at the weekend. The area has some lovely leafy walks and plenty of cafes for a tasty brunch or a strong coffee.

Favorite Boutiques

Question Air in Wimbledon Village for its wide range of diverse labels.

The Shop at Bluebird in Chelsea for a great mix of high end and something special.

Net-a-Porter for its ability to stock next season now and deliver it yesterday.
