Major Stuart Davis Exhibition Opens
Don’t miss the recently opened Stuart Davis: In Full Swing exhibit at The Whitney Museum of American Art. See for yourself how the artist’s bright, jazz-influenced works clearly express New York City’s intense energy. The paintings on view are as vibrant and evocative today as they were in the artist’s day.
Stuart Davis lived from 1892-1964, and was Davis was a preeminent figure in American modernism. His work merges the boldness of advertising with the conventions of European avant-garde painting. Comprising approximately 100 works, the show will give viewers an extensive look at masterpieces of color, space, and what often looks like structured chaos and whim.
The show runs through September 25th, 2016.
