The Public Theater Brings Troilus and Cressida to Central Park
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? On a temperate evening from July 19th—August 14th, venture to Central Park to view one of the Public Theater’s renditions of Troilus and Cressida. All performances begin at 8PM in the Delacorte Theater.
In the play, a young prince named Troilus pines after bright, young Cressida in the 7th year of the Trojan War. Meanwhile, heroes including Ajax, Ulysses, and Achilles debate whether to return the beautiful captive Helen or continue to fight. Love and war, romance and revenge never get old, and this troupe is giving the play an exciting new spin.
