Kerry James Marshall at The Met Breuer
Chicago-based artist Kerry James Marshall is finally getting his due at the nation’s most iconic art institution. A long-awaited retrospective of the artist’s work at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Met Breuer space will include nearly 80 works, including 72 paintings. Marshall’s work, which chronicles the African American experience, feels especially urgent this turbulent fall.
Kerry James Marshall: Mastry runs from October 25th–January 29th at the Met Breuer. Exhibition tours throughout the season provide deeper insight into the work.
