Bestial Sculptures

Perhaps you’ve noticed some multicolored donkeys around Cabo. The sculptures didn’t just walk themselves to the corridor at the Shoppes at Palmilla—a host of local business organized the exhibition, Baja Burros on Parade, which is the largest public art show in the history of Los Cabos and Baja California Sur (according to one of the organizers, Snell Real Estate). Other contributors include Pez Gordo Gallery, Ocean Blues Magazine, and the Shoppes at Palmilla.

The fifteen large-scale fiberglass donkeys, all painted by local artists, will remain on view through April. Then, a charity auction for the pieces will benefit community organizations. Be sure to check out the artist roster. From Hugo Agcuilar’s geometric, mechanical-looking portraits to Esther Burboa’s colorful sculptures of hands, these creators produce intriguing, widely varied work.
