An Evening to Get Jazzed About
Seattle features its share of top-notch concert venues. From indie rock to pop, the city caters to all audio needs. You’ll hear great music, though you might also end up standing amidst the sweaty masses. A visit to a jazz club, of course, is an entirely different, much more relaxed experience.
When you want to get far from the crowd and closer to the talent, stop into Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley for some smooth listening. In the intimate setting, all seats are within 50 feet of the stage. Sit back, relax, and order dinner from the full menu if you’re hungry. At least six nights per week (Tuesday through Sunday) with the occasional Monday shows, acts will perform in a variety of styles.
This April, check out performances by both Grammy-winning Kenny G (today’s biggest selling instrumental musician) and Grammy-nominated Ravi Coltrane (son of jazz great John Coltrane, named for Indian sitar legend Ravi Shankar). While reservations aren’t required, they are suggested. Call ahead to secure a seat.
