On the Catwalk
Flashing lights, elegant struts, battles over front row seats, people watching: fashion shows are captivating, energetic events even when they’re far from the couture capitals (New York, Milan, and Paris). Nashville Fashion Week, from April 4 to 8, offers plenty of excitement as it celebrates the city’s most innovative sartorial talents. The 2017 schedule includes designer shows for both emerging and established brands. For a little taste of what you might see, look up Amanda Valentine, who competed on Project Runway, and Any Old Iron, which aims to dress the city’s musicians and most fashionable locals.
It’s a great time to shop, network, and party too. Special events, trunk shows, and deals will hit a variety of boutiques and shops throughout the city. Learn how to sew or make your own jewelry at different workshops. The Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Bar Sovereign, and Track One will also host their own fetes.
