Clean, Green Fun
Since the very first Earth Day in 1970, our concerns have changed. Back then, we were rallying for causes that eventually led to the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. Today’s scientists know more than ever how quickly our planet is changing and how both man-made and natural forces are shaping the land and sea—with greater knowledge also comes a greater call for change.
This Earth Day, on April 22nd, gives us an opportunity to examine our impact on the world and what we can do to preserve it. Have a little fun with it by attending an Earth Day Initiative event in Union Square. On the 18th, the outdoor festivities will feature exhibitors including environmental non-profits and green businesses, plus performances and activities for kids (never too early to become an environmental activist!). Discover new ways to go green and new people working toward those ends.
