Donut Heaven

If you want a donut from Williamsburg’s hottest new bakery, you’re going to have to arrive early. On the day Du’s Donuts opened in late April, their 1,000 donuts sold out by 2:41 PM. The venture is the brainchild of beloved Michelin-starred chef Wylie Dufresne (who previously ran WD~50 and Alder), who brought Colin Kull (previously of San Francisco top bakery Tartine) onboard as head baker.

No need to drop a lot of, um, dough at the new spot. The donuts, which you can sample in creative flavors such as creamsicle, peanut butter & yuzu, Mexican hot chocolate, and cinnamon apple, all cost $3.50. Score a dozen for $40. Wash down the cakey goodness with some coffee today. Cocktails and breakfast sandwiches are soon to come. Counter seating and a wood table in the center of the restaurant beckon patrons to stop and smell the coffee…and the donuts, of course.
