Film on the Lawn
When the weather’s good, the last place you want to venture is a movie theater. Opt for another movie-going experience: Seattle Outdoor Cinema. Grab some folding chairs, a picnic basket, and some food and drinks to sustain you. The massive lawn at the South Lake Union Discovery Center plays host to films on a 55-foot-wide screen (no worries—projection is in high definition). If you don’t want to bring your own snacks, visit the local food trucks and the craft beer garden, which will support a local community charity.
On June 25th, celebrate the program’s 25th anniversary with a presentation of Star Wars: Rogue One. Free light sabers for the first 100 attendees! Throughout the rest of the summer, enjoy screenings of The Big Lebowski, La La Land, The Dark Knight, and more.
Films begin at dusk, 9:30pm. Doors open at 6:00pm. Arrive early and stake out the best seats!
