A Literary Fete
Reading becomes a communal experience at the Printers Row Lit Fest from June 10th-11th. The largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest will draw over 125,000 bibliophiles to Printers Row, the city’s former bookmaking hub. Print is far from dead.
On Saturday, June 10th, listen to Bill Kurtis (whose voice you love if you’ve ever listed to Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!) speak about Ernest Hemingway with his newest biographer, Mary Dearborn, and his portrayer in a TV mini-series, Stacy Keach. Take a story writing workshop and attend a conversation about graphic novels. On Sunday, listen to a discussion about the constitution, sex, and religion. Meanwhile, more than 150 booksellers from across the country will be selling new, used, and antiquarian books if all the events are making you itch to buy a new read.
