Gallery Hopping in Music City
Gallery hopping can be a great group event. First of all, you can puncture jaunts between art destinations with some drinks, snacks, and conversations. Additionally, you’ll always have a friend on hand to give you a second opinion on a possible purchase or just another perspective on what that red square in the top right corner actually represents. Luckily, the city’s already planning an art crawl so you don’t have to do all the legwork yourself.
On August 5th, join the city’s First Saturday Art Crawl to explore over 20 local art venues. Work by both local and world-renowned artists will be on view, offering options for potential art collectors with a range of budgets. Spots along 5th Avenue of the Arts, 5th Avenue South, The Historic Arcade, and Wedgewood/Houston provide music, peeks into artist-run studios, commercial galleries, and co-working spaces.
Pregame your art experience with a trip to The Frist Center for the Visual Arts, where an architecture tour at 4:30PM will give you insight into one of the city’s most famous buildings, a local art deco treasure built during the Great Depression.
