Seattle’s Biggest Week For Art
Back for its third year, the Seattle Art Fair hits town August 3-6 bringing an impressive roster of artists to the Emerald City to promote art collection, cultural literacy, and stewardship, all with the theme to examine the many ways today’s artists engage with architecture and design, public space, and the histories and conditions of social activism. The expected heavy-hitters like Gagosian, David Zwirner, and Pace will exhibit work–as well as some local institutions and newcomers like Night Gallery and UTA Artist Space–at the CenturyLink Field Event Center’s WaMu Theater. Nearly 18,000 people flocked to the fair last year in 2016, so this year is sure to attract the masses for on-site and off-site installations, talks, performances, and presentations as well.
Once again, Thompson Seattle is the official hotel sponsor of SAF, so if you’re thinking of making a last-minute trip for the art you can book your room here or join us for cocktails on the roof, and dinner at Scout PNW.
