From Fried Chicken to Chia Pudding
On September 16th, your favorite food trucks are all going to be in *one place.* Pack your appetite, and your wallet, although you won’t need to shell out much. Then venture over to Food Truck Festival Ontario, which brings the best kitchens on four wheels to Sherbourne Common. In addition to eating from the trucks’ $6 menus, you can participate too. Vote for your favorite food truck, and determine which goes home with a Golden Fork trophy. 2016’s defending champion, menu, will be on hand for fried rice balls, roti tacos, and Asian poutines. Three cheers for fusion food.
Want to check out a few of the offerings ahead of time? Hungarian-inspired Eva’s Original will bring chimney cakes (known as Kürtöskalács in Hungarian or Trdelník in Czech), sugar-coated cones that are crunchy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The Kathi Roll Express will stock their famous kathi rolls, or Indian paratha (flatbread), layered with eggs, meat, and veggies. Like a burrito but…better.
