Beauty in Belltown
Seattle’s got great museums. If you’re in town for just a weekend, you’ll be more than occupied checking out the Frye, the Henry, and the Seattle Art Museum. If you want an outdoor experience, however, and a brisk walk past beauty, take a guided tour of Belltown’s street art. The district just north of Pike Place Market offers visual delights in vibrant mural form. Sure, you can check out the art on your own, but if you want a more communal experience, head to the monthly Belltown Art Walk, every second Friday of the month, from 6–9PM. Begin with a reception from 6:00 to 7:30PM at the Community Center, 415 Bell Street.
Check out the Facebook page, where you can find how to access a mobile map for each Art Walk. The most recent list of sites included 20 destinations such as Two Bells Bar & Grill, The Crocodile, El Rey Residential, and Cyclops. The legend shows you, beforehand, what you can expect at each locale.
