History in Vinyl
A walk into RCA Studio B will hit you with a heavy dose of nostalgia. Built in 1957, Studio B functioned as an instrumental innovator in recording practices through 1977. Music legends such as Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and LeAnn Rimes all recorded hits here. Whether you’re a music geek or history buff, a little bit country or a little bit rock n’ roll, a tour will offer anecdotes about some of the icons who helped develop American audio culture as we know it. Check out the massive console installed in the studio in 1958, replete with knobs and dials once manipulated by the day’s most skilled artisans.
Tours of Studio B depart hourly between 10:30AM and 2:30PM from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Look out for special events on the website calendar.
