Nothing warms the stomach and soul like a hot bowl of ramen on a cold winter day. Slurp one of the city’s best soups while you wait for spring to finally hit. Nourishing and hearty, a bowl provides perfect sustenance for long treks through the city on frigid afternoons. In the video above, watch us sample some of our favorites.
You’ll see Ivan Ramen, the brainchild of Chef’s Table–featured culinary maestro Ivan Orkin. Decked out with bright illustrations over the kitchen, the restaurant features hip decor that will keep your eyes occupied…if you have time to look up from your bowl. Another star chef, David Chang, heads Momofuku. There, we ordered the standard ramen. For something on the rich, wild, and decadent side, try the black winter truffle version. At Rai Rai Ken, go for one of the fusion options: yakisoba, curry, mabo (which we ordered), or shoyu wonton. Finally, something’s fishy at Okonomi, where seafood is a specialty.
