From Colorful Glass to the Gates Foundation
During Seattle Museum Month this February, get half-price admission at a number of local institutions. From Chihuly Garden and Glass to the Flying Heritage Combat Armor Museum, Seattle offers diverse opportunities for both learning and play. Aesthetes, history buffs, car lovers, and science nerds: rejoice!
At the Burke Museum on University of Washington, Seattle’s campus, see a T. rex skull and the first dinosaur fossil ever found in the state. At the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center, take an interactive tour (watch for special events, too). Check out LeMay, America’s Car Museum, or Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. At the latter, you’ll learn about the American stampede for wealth in the late 19th century. At the former, invoke nostalgia for the days of the Ford Model T.
