Cavorting in the Caverns

Underground delights await at the Chaak Tun caves. Head to the cenote, or sinkhole, and find some of the region’s most impressive, centuries-old stalactites and stalagmites. Take a quick taxi west of Playa del Carmen, and you’ll arrive at the off-the-beaten-path site. Or, go through Explora-Tours, and the staff will pick you up from your hotel. Head down through the hole, into the water, and swim while looking at the incredible cave features. Sun rays dance through the ceiling, bouncing off the water, contributing to the incredible visual experience. History, nature, and fun all unite here.
