Art (and More) on Oak Street

A Community Celebration

On Thursday, May 17th, head to Oak Street between State & Michigan for a family-friendly celebration, Owls on Oak. View a public art installation created by local students who attend Ogden International School of Chicago. They’ve all interpreted their institution’s mascot, the owl, and their works will hang among the trees lining the road—we’re sure it’ll be a hoot.

The school choir will perform songs, serenading nearby shoppers. Restaurants will hand out food and drinks for the kids (juice, fruit, and cotton candy), plus wine and champagne for the adults. Support the community and the students: even if you’re just staying at Thompson Chicago for the weekend, you’ll see an intimate side of the city.

Owls on Oak is also the official kickoff event for the Oak Street Wine Stroll, an evening series held on the third Thursday of the summer months during which guests enjoy drinks and extended shopping hours at select Oak Street shops.
