Simple But Divine
Crispy, juicy, breaded fried chicken is ubiquitous across the south, but after eating at Hattie B’s, the late, great Anthony Bourdain described Nashville chicken as a “religious experience”. Not to be outdone, determined to convert other towns to the Nashville way, Hattie B’s recently opened up stores in Atlanta and Memphis.
Experience this communion at any of the three locations in the city, which offer up divine fried yardbird at six different spice levels. Hattie B’s has the side dishes you want and expect (collards, black bean salad, mac’n’cheese), and a killer craft beer selection. Save some room for afters: locals swear by the banana pudding. Expect to wait in line (and not be disappointed about it).
