Explore at your own Pace
Even if you never set foot in a gallery, the Gallery District in San Jose del Cabo. is fun to stumble around, with historic buildings and color spilling into every corner of its cobblestone streets. “Art walk” season has closed until November, but this is a fantastic opportunity to wander around the galleries.
It’s worth stopping at Frank Arnold’s gallery just to admire the bright exterior, but we’d also recommend checking out his abstract-surrealist oils and bronze statues. Patrizia Mendoza and Corsica offer contemporary art from collectible Mexican artists, while Paquime Gallery has a large selection of traditional Mata Ortiz pottery. If you’re in the mood to shop for something more pocket-size, Richi Vali and Eduardo Sanchez offer locally-crafted fine jewelry. And when you need to refuel, La Panaderia have fantastic pastries or, for healthier vegan options, try Chula.
