Fashion Week Funhouse
Now in its fourth year, Refinery 29’s 29Rooms is a giant space broken into (you guessed it) 29 rooms, each curated by a different artist, fashion house, or creative visionary. Previous exhibitions have been described by Time Out and The New York Times as a “selfie nirvana,” “an adult fun house,” and “the coolest event of fashion week.” It’s worth making the trip to Brooklyn for this one.
29Rooms invites us to “enter a realm of infinite possibilities” and embrace a mindset of abundance. By tickling our imaginations at every turn, the curators aim to shift how we see the world, and therefore ourselves. In concrete terms, this means some very cool neon art, disco balls, pink meditation chambers, and lots more decoration for your social media feed.
There will be three ticketed sessions daily and tickets can only be bought online. Friday and Saturday’s “Starlight Sessions,” from 7 to 10pm each day, offer a more intimate experience with cocktails and surprise performances.
29Rooms is located at 588 Baltic Street, Brooklyn 11217. Sessions run from 11am–2pm, 3–6pm, and 7–10pm.
